We took highway 1 through Big Sur home from the Central Coast a couple weeks ago. We hiked to the beautiful Salmon Creek Falls, stopped at Nepenthe for a yummy brunch/beer at Cafe Kevah in the sun. Next, we stopped at the fabulous Big Sur Spirit Garden extravaganza. I love their funky collection of plants and unique things. Never seen a show there, but I’m sure it would be magical.

Wow. I love the photography on this blog. Makes me want to go out and buy a real camera. And I’m slightly envious of your Cali locale. Thanks for visiting my blog!

Hi Andrea,
We’re pretty lucky to live in this beautiful city. Matti and I spent most of our lives in Wisconsin….
We’re loving our new Nikon D40! Just got it before Christmas, and it was worth every penny

hello far out flora – i went out there to live in 2004, i went to esalen institute big sue and then spent more time in carmel and santa cruz area. i just noticed your post tonight about your drive home from central coast when you saw spirit garden and everything they have there. i know, it is really different. i worked the esalen art festival one year and some other events like the july 4th and the labor day concerts. i just wanted to say hi, since my other friend from esalen, john pearson, is from stevens point wisconsin and he does keep in touch with me too….pretty funny. have a good night….sean.
