This month, Life on the Balcony’s Carnival o’ Blogs is all about using unconventional containers. On March 15th Fern will be posting all of the submissions on her great blog. Last month my Little Red Wagon of Succulents was a hit! After poking around the yard a little, I found a few non-traditionally potted plants hanging out. Matti has a ceramic bit for the drill, so everything has drainage. You can turn almost anything in to a container.
We really like funky, unusual containers. Garage sales and thrift stores are the best places to find cool stuff. Check our some of these older blogs for more cool container ideas:

Very creative! (except for the evil-looking tiger – it scares me.)

love the containers, but what type of planting soil do you use? and do you have to drain holes in the bottom of the containers for drainage?

We use potting soil that’s around. Sometimes we mix up our own blends. All of our containers outside have drainage. For the ceramic objects we use a ceramic bit and a drill. For metal stuff we punch holes.
